Comments from clients:

“Thank you for your patient and inspirational tuition and I look forward to the next time.”

“I never expected to get so much done in only four hours. When you said I was making the chicken liver paté I figured you were being funny. But incredibly I can now not only boast that I have made it, but that it was actually edible too! And as for my pastry... in the course of one day I went from potential assassin to really rather reasonable cook. Ta.”

“Thank you again for a wonderful four days. The cookery course was brilliant.”

“We had a great time - learnt a lot, bonded and enjoyed the company and the countryside....”

“I really enjoyed my lesson and learnt so many things. I was amazed to find that cooking really isn't as hard as I thought it was, and I have got lots of new ideas now. It was good to be able to learn in such a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be recommending the Kitchen Confidence cooking courses to others.”

“My sister and I learnt a great deal on the cookery course. On the way home my sister said that she would have to get saving to come back and do one of your residential courses, so she must have enjoyed it! I also found it very useful, and I realise that I can improve on what I eat with just a bit of effort (and it doesn't have to be too time consuming!)”

“Thank you so much for last week, I really enjoyed it and have already put what you taught us to good use. I spent half the weekend in the kitchen because everyone was so insistent that they should try everything.
Unfortunatley, having made a fantastic (and it was, because I couldn't stop eating it raw) roast vegatable lasagne, when it came to taking it out of the oven I dropped it and smashed it. Which was at first rather upsetting, but managed to salvage the top bits, and then because of my new highly organised kitchen self, I gave everyone the twice baked souffles I was saving for the next day instead, which means with a little bit of floor lasagne and a souffle everyone was very impressed and in the end it worked out better cos they had two great things rather than just one.
On Sunday we went for a fantastic picnic at Basildon park in Berkshire for which I made flatbreads again, but as we didn't have any chickpeas, I put olives and a hint of oregano in and they were a huge success.
So all in all it's been brilliant and I really appreciate your help. Now I'm back in the boring world of work and typing to get some money together, I appreciate it even more.”

“The course was great. I didn't know what to expect nor what I would achieve in just three and a half days, but you made such a difference, from the first moments of your warm welcome on Sunday, right through the rest of the week. Thank you.”

“Both me and my sister learnt a great deal and on the way home she said she would have to get saving to come back and do one of your residential courses, so she must have enjoyed it! and I know she did.
I also found it very useful, and I realise that I can improve on what I eat with just a bit of effort (and it doesn't have to be too time consuming!)”

“Thanks so much for having Jo and I on Friday last week - it was such a good session and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Jo is coming for lunch today and guess what? I'm giving her filo parcels and spinach soup!
Really inspiring stuff.”

“I want to thank you for such a wonderful course. My intention was to try and gather some enthusiasm to cook, what I came away with was so much more.
Your friendly approach to the course and your interaction with Punam, Steve (the big one!) and myself made the whole event a real joy. It was so refreshing to be able to laugh and joke again.
I have yet to put my newly learnt skills to the test as most of my meals have been cooked for me in hotels!
However, the garlic press has gone!”

“I 've just been talking to Darren about you and we have said we feel like we've known you for years (in the nicest possible way of course).
We went home via Wyken Vineyards managing to spend a little bit more money :-)
Many many thanks for this week we have both enjoyed it thoroughly.”

“I was so proud to receive my apron after completing the 'course' (really a very lovely holiday!). I even embroidered my name onto the apron!
I have been so busy in the kitchen over Christmas! I had a fantastic Christmas Dinner and my mince pies, Christmas cake and filo pastry sausage rolls have gone down a treat. I've taken my butternut squash and spinach soups in a flask on a couple of walks and my family love them. I made a lovely 'turkey loaf' with the leftover turkey!
It's great when you have time to cook - but I'm not looking forward to going back to work!”

“We all had a great time and I loved everything we cooked and can't wait to try them out at Christmas, mind you I will have to stock up my larder before then!!
A truly inspirational day and I admire you enormously for what you have achieved since you set up Kitchen Confidence, well done.”

“Thank you for sharing your skill, having the patience to watch some appalling tuiles develop and having ability to show us all so much in so little time.”

“Our family is not prone to doing a lot of cooking and all the food was new to me, but I loved it and it has opened me to a range of foods that I would have never tried but I will definately use in the future.”

“Over the past few days I've made most of the scrummy things you so patiently :o) taught me and Paul is convinced you've sent a cloned Stepford version back because he says he's never been looked after so well!!!!
I made the stuffed lamb and shortbread dessert on Sunday for my mum and Paul - they were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed it which was a nice feeling for me.
I must admit I've enjoyed myself pottering around the kitchen at home and even more exciting was the new shopping experiences in the butchers and the normally ignored aisles in the supermarkets - it may sound weird but it's like I've joined a new club where I actually understand what it all means (to a degree!!!).”

“ The four days I spent with you were brilliant. I learnt much more than could have hoped for. The fact that I thoroughly enjoyed myself was a big bonus.
My daughters were cooking the meal on Sunday - it was Mothers Day. I said I would make the 1st course. Not the most sensible decision but I decided to make the twice baked souffl és. They were very good for a first attempt and all the ladies of the house were most impressed. So was I but tried not to show my surprise.
Once again many thanks and you never know I may well be asking you what courses are available for a more experienced cook some time in the future.”
